And if you never pay: Jarq stays on the free plan — 5 dictations or translations a day, no account, no expiry. The plans above lift the limit; nothing above is needed to keep the app useful.

Dictation on your own Mac is free and unlimited, on every plan. Install the optional speech model and dictation runs entirely on your machine: it costs us nothing to run, so it counts for nothing and is never refused. The daily limit exists for the work that reaches our servers — translation, the text actions, and dictation that types in a language other than the one you spoke.

Already subscribed? Manage your subscription — change the card on file, download invoices or cancel. Jarq does it for you inside the app; this is the way in from anywhere else.

Every install starts with 14 days of Pro, free — no card, no account, nothing switched off.

What happens when the trial ends

Jarq keeps working, on the free plan: 5 dictations or translations a day — plus unlimited dictation through the on-device model, which is not counted at all. It resets every morning and never runs out — enough for the messages you would otherwise open a translator tab for, plainly not enough for a working day. Nothing else changes: the app stays installed, your settings stay where you put them, and your history stays on your Mac. A licence lifts the daily limit, and everything picks up where it was.

Fair use

Paid plans are unlimited in normal use. There is one ceiling behind them: 2,000 dictations or translations per month per licence. It exists because every dictation runs through a speech model that costs real money to run, and it is set far above what a heavy daily user reaches — if you dictate 65 times a day, every day, you still stay under it. If you ever hit it, we'll write to you rather than silently cut you off.

Taxes and payment

The prices above are what you pay. VAT and sales tax are already included, whatever country you are in — nothing is added at checkout.

Payments are handled by Paddle, our merchant of record — you can pay by card, PayPal or Apple Pay, and Paddle appears on your statement. See our refund policy and terms of service.

Questions people actually ask

How many Macs does one licence cover?

Two, as long as they're yours — a laptop and a desk machine is the usual pair. Activations move: unlink an old Mac in the app's account tab and the slot comes straight back, so reinstalling macOS or buying a new machine never costs you one. Need a third for a real reason? Write to [email protected] and we'll raise it.

What happens if I cancel a subscription?

Jarq keeps working until the end of the period you paid for. After that, dictation and translation stop until you renew — your settings and your history stay on your Mac, untouched.

What does "Lifetime" actually cover?

Every version of Jarq from here on, forever — the next major one included — plus the cloud transcription and translation behind them. No paid upgrades for owners, now or later.

Does Jarq need an internet connection?

For most of it, yes: translation, the text actions and dictation into another language run on our servers. Dictation in the language you speak can run entirely on your Mac — install the optional on-device speech model and it works with no connection at all, free and unlimited on every plan.

Can I get a refund?

30 days, no questions asked. Details on the refund policy page.

Is there a discount for students or teams?

Not yet, but ask — write to [email protected] and we'll sort something out.

Thank you, beta testers. For everyone who ran the beta, the lifetime licence is half price — $100, for the first fifty. Open the plans in Jarq on the Mac that ran the beta; the price is already there.
